We love Newmilns

Newmilns Regeneration Association is a voluntary organisation concerned with preserving the heritage of Newmilns and promoting regeneration within the town.

Our Mission

Newmilns Regeneration Association has produced an Action Plan which sets out the priorities for the development of Newmilns over the next five years, as determined by the community through an extensive process of community engagement organised and led by local community organisations and local residents.

Our latest Community Action Plan 2022-2027 was created by gathering up community views.

Did you know that 39% of Scots believe that litter has become more common locally over the last 12 months? We want to change that so we’re supporting Keep Scotland Beautiful’s #SpringCleanScotland. We are looking for volunteers and will be meeting at the CHaT Hub, 4 Brown Street, Newmilns at 10am on Saturday 27th April.

Asset Transfer - Survey Newmilns Regeneration Association have expressed an interest to East Ayrshire Council to asset transfer an area of derelict land on Nelson Street, backing on to Brown Street (the former Social Security Office). The asset transfer would be dependent on a robust business plan, a successful application for grant funding and support from the local community. The desire for a community garden was established at a previous community consultation (the land where the former block of flats stood at the bottom of Borebrae), but the area was deemed unsuitable for a community garden for various reasons. Newmilns Regeneration Association have been looking for a suitable site since this date and want to establish if a Community Garden would still be of interest to the community. We have now formed a small group of volunteers to take this project forward, but as usual, we would need more volunteers to join the group to ensure the success of the project going forward. The proposal would be for a series of raised beds to make the garden accessible to all, with a storage facility sited on the land for storage of tools and equipment and other assets held by community groups. We would like you to take our survey so we can put forward your ideas and if you would be interested in volunteering to help.
